Thomas (b. 1964) has been a drummer since he began taking lessons in 1978. His musical influences represent a wide spectrum from big band jazz to heavy metal rock. He cut his teeth in high school playing for marching band, concert band, jazz band, theatre productions, and jamming with friends. He honed his skills playing for cover bands and churches. Then, a long hiatus set in. Drums were mostly set aside while pursuing other ventures in aviation and higher education.

The beat was always in his heart, however, and in 2003 his desire to revive the pulse won out. He posted his ad in a local music store and was invited by Real Time to audition. Joining Real Time provided him with ample opportunity to develop his musicianship and stretch his creative wings as both a drummer and a lyricist. Real Time's commitment to producing original rock, combined with the band's ability to request and accept influence from each other, results in a diversity that suits the varied background of Thomas' musical interests.

Playing for Real Time never gets boring or stale. Creatively, I get to be myself, yet I'm constantly challenged to push my musical comfort zone. It's very rewarding to play with these guys. It has made me a better drummer".
